These faculties provide students with opportunities to pursue professional and academic programmes in their chosen fields. The Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences and Faculty of Clinical Sciences play vital roles in training healthcare professionals and supporting medical education. Similarly, the Faculty of Nursing Sciences and Faculty of Pharmacy offer specialized programmes designed to meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector. Niger Delta University regularly organizes important academic and institutional events, including matriculation ceremonies, convocation ceremonies, public lectures, conferences, and student development programmes. One notable event is the university's Combined Convocation Ceremony, which celebrates the achievements of graduating students and recognizes excellence in academic and professional pursuits. The institution also keeps students and stakeholders informed through regular publication of university news, announcements, and upcoming events. Recent updates have included matters relating to governing council elections, academic activities, and professional collaborations with international organizations. Student experience remains a major focus of the university. Many students commend the dedication of lecturers, the supportive learning environment, and the opportunities available for academic and personal growth. The university encourages active participation in research, leadership development, innovation, and community engagement. Admission into Niger Delta University is highly competitive and is primarily conducted through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized by JAMB. Candidates seeking admission into undergraduate programmes are required to participate in the university's Post UTME screening exercise and satisfy all admission requirements. The NDU Post UTME examination format is conducted using a Computer-Based Test (CBT) system. Candidates are expected to answer questions based on their JAMB subject combination relevant to their chosen course of study. The screening exercise consists of 40 objective questions to be completed within 30 minutes. Since the examination is time-sensitive, candidates are expected to combine both speed and accuracy while answering questions. All questions in the examination are presented in multiple-choice format, requiring candidates to select the most appropriate answer from the options provided. Adequate preparation and familiarity with the CBT environment are essential for success during the screening exercise. Candidates are strongly encouraged to prepare thoroughly using relevant study materials, practice questions, and CBT mock examinations. Regular practice helps improve confidence, speed, accuracy, and overall examination performance. As one of the leading institutions in the Niger Delta region, Niger Delta University remains committed to providing world-class education, fostering innovative research, and producing graduates equipped to contribute meaningfully to society and global development.
