Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), formerly known as Ogun State University, is one of Nigeria’s prominent state universities located in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. Established in 1982, the university was created to expand access to quality higher education and has since grown into a respected institution known for academic excellence, professional training, and research development across multiple disciplines. OOU operates through several colleges, faculties, institutes, and academic programmes spread across its campuses. The university’s major colleges include the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS), College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (CEES), and the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences (OACHS). The institution also operates a Postgraduate School for advanced academic and research programmes. The College of Agricultural Sciences consists of the Faculty of Agricultural Management and Rural Development and the Faculty of Agricultural Production and Renewable Resources. The university offers programmes such as Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Animal Production, Crop Production, Forestry and Wildlife, Fisheries Production, Home and Hotel Management, Food Nutrition and Dietetics, and several other agriculture-related courses. The College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (CEES) houses the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Environmental Studies. Courses offered include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Fine and Applied Arts, and Urban and Regional Planning. The Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences (OACHS) includes the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, and the Faculty of Clinical Sciences. The college offers highly competitive medical and health-related courses such as Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, and Forensic Science. Other major faculties within the university include the Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Social Sciences. The university offers popular courses such as Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mass Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Law, Pharmacy, Economics, English, and many others across different departments. In addition to regular undergraduate programmes, OOU also operates several alternative and flexible learning programmes including the Advance Certificate Programme, JUPEB Programme, Part-Time Programme, Pre-Degree Programme, Open Distance Learning Centre, Continuing Education, and various postgraduate programmes. Admission into OOU is highly competitive, with thousands of candidates applying yearly through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by JAMB. To further assess candidates seeking admission into undergraduate programmes, the university conducts a Post UTME screening examination. The OOU Post UTME examination format is conducted physically using a Computer-Based Test (CBT) system at the university’s Main Campus in Ago-Iwoye. Candidates are tested based on their UTME subject combination, including subjects relevant to their intended course of study. In some admission sessions, Current Affairs and General Knowledge questions may also appear as part of the screening examination, although this is not always consistent. The examination consists of 50 questions to be answered within 30 minutes, making speed, accuracy, and effective time management extremely important. The screening exercise mainly contains multiple-choice questions, where candidates are expected to select the correct option from a list of answers. Preparing with OOU Post UTME past questions and answers is one of the best ways to understand the university’s examination pattern, repeated topics, and question style. Past questions help candidates become familiar with the CBT examination environment and improve confidence ahead of the screening exercise. Candidates are also encouraged to participate in regular OOU CBT practice tests to improve speed, time management, and overall examination readiness. Consistent practice under timed conditions can significantly improve performance during the actual examination.
