Selection into undergraduate programmes is based on Merit, Catchment Area, and Educationally Disadvantaged States policies. Candidates are generally expected to obtain a minimum JAMB score of 200 and possess the required O’Level credits before being eligible for admission consideration. To further assess candidates seeking undergraduate admission, the university conducts the UNIBEN Post UTME screening examination, officially known as the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME). The screening is conducted physically using a Computer-Based Test (CBT) system at the university’s Main Campus, Ugbowo. The university organizes the screening exercise in groups based on faculties and courses to make the examination process easier and more organized for candidates. The UNIBEN Post UTME examination format usually consists of approximately 40 to 50 questions to be answered within 30 minutes. Candidates are tested in the exact four UTME subjects used during their JAMB registration, making the correct subject combination extremely important. The number of questions allocated to each subject may vary depending on the screening structure for that admission year. In some sessions, Use of English may contain more questions than the remaining subjects. The examination mainly consists of multiple-choice questions, and calculators are generally not allowed during the examination. Candidates who obtain a cumulative score of 50% and above may be eligible for admission consideration depending on departmental cut-off marks and admission policies. Preparing with UNIBEN Post UTME past questions and answers is one of the best ways to understand the university’s examination pattern, repeated topics, and CBT question structure. Past questions help candidates improve speed, accuracy, confidence, and familiarity with the CBT environment. Candidates are also encouraged to participate in regular UNIBEN CBT practice tests to improve examination readiness, time management, and overall performance during the screening exercise. Due to the highly competitive nature of admission into UNIBEN, candidates are advised to study consistently, practice past questions regularly, follow the official syllabus closely, and stay updated with official information regarding screening schedules, departmental cut-off marks, and admission requirements.
