The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is a federal university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. Founded by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the university was formally opened on 7 October 1960 and became the first full-fledged indigenous and autonomous university in Nigeria. UNN was modelled after the American university system and is also recognised as the first land-grant university in Africa.
