The Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has confirmed that the Matriculation Ceremony for all newly admitted full-time students (including 100 Level and Direct Entry candidates) for the 2025/2026 academic session will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The event is scheduled to hold at the Buba Marwa Main Auditorium, Ojo Campus, with proceedings set to begin at 9:30 a.m. All matriculating students are expected to be seated by 8:30 a.m. to ensure a smooth and timely commencement of the ceremony. The matriculation marks the official induction of new students into the LASU academic community, symbolizing their acceptance into the university system.

In preparation for the event, LASU has also reinforced its dress code guidelines, warning that indecent dressing will not be permitted within the ceremony venue. The management emphasized that all students must appear in neat, appropriate and university-acceptable outfits. Any individual who violates the dress code may be denied entry or restricted from participating in the programme.

According to the guidelines reiterated by the institution, the following dress items and styles are strictly prohibited:

• Brightly coloured or multicoloured hairstyles
• Excessive hair extensions extending beyond chest level
• Dreadlocks or untidy, overgrown hair
• Long artificial nails
• Skimpy outfits
• Dresses revealing cleavage or upper body parts
• Torn or “crazy” jeans
• Nose rings or multiple ear piercings

The university noted that these measures align with prior circulars aimed at promoting discipline and maintaining a decent learning environment across all campuses.

LASU advised parents and guardians to guide their wards accordingly to ensure compliance and avoid unnecessary embarrassment on the day of the ceremony.

Students are encouraged to stay updated through official LASU communication channels and the institution’s website for any additional information.
