About NNPC/OANDO Scholarship


The NNPC/OANDO Scholarship is a yearly initiative designed to support Nigerian undergraduate students by providing financial assistance for their education. The scholarship, sponsored by the NNPC/OANDO Joint Venture, aims to foster academic excellence and empower young Nigerians, particularly those from host and transit communities.

It is divided into two categories:

Host/Transit Communities Merit Award – Reserved for students from OANDO’s host and transit communities.

National Merit Award – Open to Nigerian undergraduates studying Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, or Agricultural Sciences in accredited universities.

Successful applicants receive financial aid to cover tuition and other academic expenses. The selection process includes an aptitude test, and only candidates who meet the required criteria will be considered.

The NNPC OANDO Scholarship 2025 offers an annual ₦200,000 award to selected tertiary institution students throughout the period of study



2025 NNPC/OANDO Scholarship Eligibility

To be considered for the NNPC/NAOC/OANDO JV Scholarship, you must:
  • Be registered Full-TIME undergraduates in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
  • Be certified 100-level students at the time of application (Only students admitted in the 2024/2025 academic session)
  • Must be citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
  • Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship from an entity operating in the Oil and Gas Industry, National or International
NOTE: The following categories of students should not apply
  • Current beneficiaries of similar Awards from other Companies and Agencies
  • Dependents of NAOC/NAE/AENR/NACPFA
  • Only Indigenes of NAOC Host/Transit Communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Imo States SHOULD apply for the Host Communities Merit Award.
  • Only applicants studying Engineering, Geology, Geosciences and Agricultural Science are eligible for the National Merit Award.


Required Documents
Applicants for the NNPC/OANDO Scholarship 2025 must provide the following documents during the application process
  • Recent passport photograph (White background, 450px by 450px, not older than six months, and not exceeding 200kb)
  • School ID card
  • O’level certificate
  • Admission letter
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of Local Government Area of Origin
  • JAMB result
For Host Communities Merit Award applicants, additional documents are required
  • Letter from the Community Paramount Ruler
  • Letter from the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman



How to Apply for NNPC/OANDO Scholarship

  • Prepare Documents – Scan and upload a passport photo, school ID, O’level certificate, admission letter, birth certificate, JAMB result, and proof of origin. Host community applicants need additional letters.
  • Visit Portal – Access the official NNPC/OANDO Scholarship page.
  • Fill Application – Enter personal and academic details, then upload documents.
  • Submit Form – Review and submit your application.
  • Take Aptitude Test – Shortlisted candidates will be invited for testing.
  • Check Results – Successful applicants will be notified via email and official notice boards.
