About 2025 WTO Young Trade Leaders Program

The 2025 WTO Young Trade Leaders Program is an initiative by the World Trade Organization (WTO) designed to empower young individuals passionate about international trade. This program aims to create a network of motivated youth who can actively promote trade as a force for growth, development, and positive change in their communities and beyond.

WTO Young Trade Leaders Program 2025 Benefits

Selected Young Trade Leaders will have the opportunity to:

• gain a greater understanding of the workings of the WTO and international trade
• publish articles, blogs, podcasts and social media content on trade-related topics
• attend an in-person one-day training programme at the WTO in Geneva
• contribute to and/or coordinate a session at the Public Forum 2024
• benefit from existing WTO training programmes benefit from WTO Secretariat advice and mentoring
• receive support when organizing WTO-related activities in their home countries.

2025 WTO Young Trade Leaders Program Eligibility

• Age: 18–28 years
• Citizenship: WTO member countries
• Affiliation: No ties to WTO staff
• Language: Proficiency in English; French/Spanish is a plus
• Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and diplomacy

Required Documents

• CV (no more than two pages)
• 2-3 minute video in which they briefly introduce themselves, express their interest in the programme and explain the impact they hope to have as a Young Trade Leader
• Written contribution: Maximum of 300 words, answering the question: “How can trade positively contribute to people and planet?”

• Applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.
• The WTO Secretariat will review all applications. Short-listed applicants will be invited to take part in an interview in May 2025.
