The meeting will take place at the Body of Benchers Auditorium, located in the Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi.
This annual gathering remains one of the most important events in Nigeria’s education sector, as it determines the framework for admissions into tertiary institutions across the country.
A major highlight of this year’s meeting will be the unveiling of key policy directions by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa. His address is expected to shape the direction of the 2026/2027 admission process.
The policy meeting traditionally brings together top stakeholders in the education sector, including Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars, and admission officers.
Representatives from regulatory bodies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) are also expected to be in attendance.
In addition, organizations like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will participate by delivering goodwill messages.
One of the key objectives of the meeting is to determine the minimum acceptable UTME cut-off marks for admissions into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. It will also establish official admission guidelines and policies that institutions must follow for the upcoming academic session.
The meeting is expected to formally set the tone for the 2026/2027 admission exercise, emphasizing strict compliance with established rules to ensure transparency and fairness in the admission process.
As part of the event, JAMB will also host the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M). The awards recognize institutions that have demonstrated consistency and integrity in adhering to admission guidelines, contributing to the overall improvement of tertiary education in Nigeria.
With critical decisions expected, the outcome of the meeting will play a significant role in shaping admission processes nationwide, including the official announcement of cut-off marks and enforcement of standardized admission procedures.
