Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has announced the commencement of its Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos State origin seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The exercise is mandatory for Lagos State indigenes who selected LASUED as their first-choice institution and wish to be considered under the indigeneship admission category.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be an indigene of Lagos State.
• Must have selected LASUED as First Choice Institution.
• Must score a minimum of 185 in the 2026 UTME.
• Direct Entry candidates of Lagos State origin are also eligible.
• Previous applicants from the 2025/2026 session who were not admitted may revalidate their clearance certificates.

• Opens: Monday, 18 May 2026
• Closes: Sunday, 14 June 2026

Verification Exercise Period

• Monday, 1 June 2026
• Thursday, 25 June 2026

Important Note
• Candidates must present a Letter from Oba as part of the verification requirements.
• The verification exercise does not guarantee admission into LASUED.
• Only candidates successfully cleared by the LASUED Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (LIIVC) will be considered under the Lagos State indigene category.
• Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin must also participate in the exercise.
