Heads of tertiary institutions across Nigeria have approved the minimum tolerable UTME scores for the 2026/2027 admission exercise during the JAMB Policy Meeting.

Heads of tertiary institutions across Nigeria have approved the minimum tolerable UTME scores for the 2026/2027 admission exercise during the JAMB Policy Meeting.
According to JAMB, the approved benchmark simply represents the lowest score institutions are expected to consider for admission into their respective categories.
This means the announced scores are minimum admission benchmarks and do not automatically guarantee admission into any institution.
JAMB further explained that schools are free to set higher cut-off marks depending on the competitiveness of courses and their admission policies, but they are not expected to go below the approved minimum benchmarks.
