About US Embassy Education Opportunities for Nigerians 2025
The United States Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, invites organizations to participate in an open competition for a project designed to promote U.S. higher education opportunities for high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.This initiative focuses on enhancing standard advising centers and providing financial assistance to support the application processes for these students. The implementing partner will collaborate with Education Specialists from the Public Diplomacy Section in Abuja and Lagos to execute the 2025–26 Education Advising Program. This includes supporting the Education USA Opportunity Funds Program and assisting advising centers in Calabar, Jos, Ibadan, and Kano.

The US Embassy Education Grant aims to assist 40 high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students who are likely to receive full financial aid from U.S. colleges and universities but lack the resources to cover necessary costs.Costs covered include;
- standardized test fees,
- application fees,
- airfare,
- visa fees,
- SEVIS fees, and
- settling-in expenses.
US Embassy Education Opportunities for Nigerians Eligibility
To be considered for the US Embassy Higher Education Grant Opportunity, eligible organizations must:- Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations.
- Public and private educational institutions.
- Public international organizations and governmental institutions.
- All organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued via SAM.gov as well as a
valid registration in SAM.gov. - Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization. If more than one proposal is submitted from an organization, all proposals from that institution will be considered ineligible for funding.
