According to a statement issued by JAMB's Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the mop-up examination is meant for candidates who presented themselves and were successfully biometrically verified during the 2026 UTME but could not sit for the examination due to various challenges.
The Board explained that while the 2026 UTME was conducted between 16 April and 29 April 2026, some examination centres experienced technical issues that prevented certain candidates from taking the examination.
JAMB also disclosed that candidates whose results were withdrawn due to examination infractions, as well as candidates who encountered biometric verification issues during the examination, have been included in the mop-up exercise.
The Board described the mop-up examination as the final phase of the 2026 UTME exercise and an opportunity to resolve all outstanding examination challenges involving affected candidates.
Printing of Examination Slips
Affected candidates are expected to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, 6 June 2026.
Candidates are advised to carefully check their examination centres, confirm their schedules, and make adequate preparations ahead of the examination date.
Important Notice
JAMB emphasized that the mop-up examination will serve as the final opportunity for eligible candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME.
Candidates are therefore encouraged to take the exercise seriously, as there will be no further opportunity to sit for the 2026 UTME after the mop-up examination.
