Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship Program Benefits

Fellows receive a stipend of $78,000, along with an additional $5,000 to support project-related expenses. If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident affiliated with a U.S.-based home institution, you may choose to have the stipend paid either directly to you or through your home institution.

To be eligible for the Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship Program 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Humanities & Social Sciences: PhD or terminal degree earned by Dec 2023; at least one monograph or two peer-reviewed publications.
  • Science, Engineering & Math: PhD by Dec 2023; minimum five peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • Creative Arts: Film/Visual Arts: Proven record of exhibitions or performances.
  • Fiction/Nonfiction: At least one published book, a contract, or 3+ substantial published works.
  • Poetry: 20+ poems or a book published in the past 5 years.
  • Journalism: Minimum five years of professional experience.
  • Playwriting/Music: Recognized, performed works; PhD/DMA optional for composers.
