The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, has announced the date for the Screening Test for candidates seeking admission into the 78 Regular Course for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The screening exercise will be conducted nationwide across all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Who Is Eligible?

Candidates eligible for the NDA Screening Test must meet the following conditions:

- Must have selected the Nigerian Defence Academy as the first-choice institution during UTME registration.
- Candidates applying for Engineering courses must score at least 210 in UTME.
- Candidates applying for other courses must score at least 180 in UTME.
- Candidates must have successfully completed the NDA application process before the portal closed.


State Selection for Screening

Eligible candidates are expected to choose their preferred state for the screening exercise.

According to the academy:

- Emails will be sent to eligible applicants from 20th May, 2026.
- Candidates are required to select their preferred examination state on or before 24th May, 2026.
- Examination centres will later be assigned based on selected states.

Candidates are advised to choose their state of residence or a convenient location for the screening exercise.



Screening Centres

The screening exercise will hold simultaneously across Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory.

Candidates will receive details of their assigned centres during the first week of June 2026.


Required Documents and Materials

Candidates are expected to come along with:

- Screening Test Admission Card
- Original JAMB Result Slip
- Recent Passport Photographs
- Writing Materials
- Other required identification documents


Important Guidelines

- Candidates must arrive early at their assigned screening centres.
- Electronic devices may not be allowed during the screening exercise.
- Only qualified candidates will proceed to the next stage of the admission process.
- Successful candidates from the screening phase will later participate in the Armed Forces Selection Board process.


Nature of Training

Candidates admitted into the NDA Regular Course will undergo both military and academic training as officer cadets.


Programme Duration

- Five (5) Years

Successful cadets will graduate with both a military commission and a university degree.
